Opening

Sisters! It's that time of the year again when seasons change! I get super excited during this time because I can try all kinds of new makeup looks! I've been busy lately, immersing myself in runway makeup research, and let me tell you, this year's spring/summer makeup trends are absolutely mind-blowing! It's completely different from previous years, with various divine decorative elements that are scream-worthy beautiful! Over the weekend, I went on a makeup shopping spree and tried everything out at home. Today, I'm sharing my insights and learning experiences with you!

The Feather Trend

I have to say, Thom Browne's runway show was absolutely incredible! Especially that feather eyelash design - it was so stunning that I immediately wanted to buy the same thing! This look was created by legendary makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench and Lashify together, and I was blown away the moment I saw the models. Those lashes were extraordinary, with delicate feathers fluttering gently on the eyelids as if they might take flight at any moment - so ethereal!

I knew I had to try this divine look! But considering that wearing real feathers might be a bit dramatic for daily life, I bought some false lashes with feather textures instead. Sisters, I can tell you with confidence that the effect is super amazing! I bought several pairs in different lengths, and the gradually increasing length from inner to outer corner is especially suitable for daily wear - it looks natural yet distinctive.

However, I did run into some challenges during my first attempt. Initially, I chose some really dramatic feather lashes and almost glued my eyelids shut - I couldn't even see my eyeliner after spending ages applying it. Later, I figured out that beginners should start with shorter lengths and work their way up to longer ones once they've mastered the technique.

Also, you must draw your eyeliner before applying feather lashes! I made the mistake of applying lashes first and then trying to do eyeliner, but I couldn't even get the eyeliner pen in there, and the whole look was ruined. Now I always draw inner eyeliner first, apply eyeshadow base, and then attach the lashes - this works much better.

Another tip is to use an eyelash curler to slightly curl the false lashes to better match your eye shape. I didn't do this before and felt uncomfortable wearing them all day. Later I discovered it was because the lash curve wasn't right - curling them immediately solved the problem.

Oh, and be extra careful when removing makeup - don't just pull them off. I recommend gently massaging with cleansing oil first, waiting for the glue to soften before slowly removing them. This way you won't damage your natural lashes, and the false lashes can be reused multiple times.

New Take on Doll Makeup

Speaking of Marc Jacobs' doll makeup, I have to give a massive shoutout to Pat McGrath! This design completely changed my understanding of doll makeup. It's not just about drawing a simple beauty mark - they played with all kinds of decorative elements in new ways.

I spent a long time at home figuring out the tricks. First, don't limit yourself to traditional beauty mark placement. I tried drawing a small star at the corner of my eye, which looked super cute; I also tried a small heart on my cheeks with light blush - it was incredibly sweet!

However, drawing these decorative patterns definitely requires some skill. I found that eyeliner pens made the lines too harsh, but switching to specialized face paint pens worked much better. And they must be waterproof, or they'll smear when you sweat. I once went to a friend's birthday party with a shiny moon drawn at my eye corner, but it smudged into a mess not long after - super embarrassing!

Another key point is maintaining overall balance. For example, if you draw stars at your eye corners, the rest of your makeup should be lighter to avoid looking messy. My favorite combination now is: a small star at the eye corner, paired with light pink eyeshadow, natural eyebrows, and nude lipstick - it looks fun but not too over-the-top.

By the way, this makeup style is perfect for photos! Especially in darker venues like clubs or parties, those little decorations really shine. Last time I wore this to a friend's party, I was the center of attention - everyone said it looked amazing!

Metallic Radiance

Kobi Halperin's gold glitter is absolutely incredible! I've been playing with this trend for a while now and I'm totally addicted. At first, I followed the conventional method of applying with a brush, but was never quite satisfied with the results. Later, I discovered that applying with fingertips creates an amazing effect!

My current method is: first, pick up a small amount of glitter with your fingertip and dab it on the back of your hand to control the amount. Then gently pat it onto the areas you want to emphasize, like the inner corner, outer corner, or center of the eye. This creates a natural effect that looks very elegant.

However, it's important to choose finely milled glitter, or it will look cheap. I once bought some coarse glitter that looked like I'd thrown sand on my face - totally not the effect I wanted. After switching to fine shimmer, it immediately looked more sophisticated.

Also, use moderation - less is more. I think the perfect state is: a subtle shimmer that catches the light, rather than an overwhelming metallic shine. This helps highlight features without looking too dramatic.

Oh, and always use eye primer before applying glitter, or it will fall off. My current routine is: eye primer first, then matte eyeshadow as a base, and finally accent with glitter. This ensures long-lasting wear without fallout.

Color Revolution

Finally, we can say goodbye to nude lips! Honestly, I was getting aesthetic fatigue from wearing nude lipstick every day last year. Now we can finally play with something new - I've pulled out my entire lipstick collection!

The return of blue and green eyeshadow is particularly noteworthy. The application technique this time is really interesting - it's not just about applying a large patch of color, but there are many ways to express it. Lately, I've been loving using a peacock blue eyeliner to draw a small upward flick at the outer corner, paired with a touch of pearl shine in the inner corner - it instantly brightens up the whole look!

However, playing with color requires technique. For blue eyeshadow, choosing the right shade is crucial. Bright blue can look dramatic, but navy blue looks sophisticated. My current favorite is a deep navy that has color without being too bold.

As for green, this really needs careful selection. I recommend choosing a metallic forest green, which has more texture. I once bought a bright green that made me look like a Christmas tree...

Also, remember to consider your skin tone when playing with colors. I've found that the same color can look completely different on different skin tones. I suggest trying colors at makeup counters first to find the shade that suits you best.

Practical Tips

After this period of intense makeup experimentation, I've summarized some useful tips to share:

First, be patient and don't try too many new elements at once. I made this mistake before, wanting to try feather lashes and stars together, which made the whole look messy. Now I only try one new element at a time, mastering it before moving on to others.

Second, tools are important. Good makeup tools can really make a difference. For example, when drawing decorative patterns, you must use professional face paint pens for more precise lines. I struggled for a long time because I wasn't using the right tools.

Also, choose makeup according to the occasion. For workdays, opt for subtle expressions. If you want to play with color, start with inner eyeliner. On weekends or at parties, you can be more daring.

Waterproof products are crucial! Especially in summer, always choose waterproof products. I once made the mistake of not paying attention to this and my makeup smeared after sweating - super embarrassing.

Pay special attention to makeup removal. These decorative looks are usually harder to remove, so use professional makeup removers and be patient - don't rub hard.

Final Thoughts

These spring/summer makeup trends are really exciting! Each trend makes you want to try it immediately. My personal favorite is still the gold glitter accent because it's so versatile and works for both daily wear and parties.

Most importantly, remember that these trends are just references - the key is finding what works for you. Everyone has different face and eye shapes, so the same makeup can look different on different people. So make sure to experiment and find your perfect version.

If you try these looks, please tell me about your experience! Let's find our own makeup style this spring and summer together! Oh, and if you have any good makeup product recommendations, please let me know - I'm in a serious shopping mode right now!
